Cliché is a conceptual project set in the heart of Shkodra’s edestrian street — a public intervention that redefines how architecture converses with its surroundings. A slender metal structure extends 22 meters in length and rises 3.5 meters high, forming a transparent, glass-wrapped volume that feels at once delicate and assertive.

From the very beginning, the main challenge lay in how this glass pavilion could inhabit a space already dominated by strong architectural identities — how it could exist without colliding. The answer came from nature itself: four trees, standing in proportionate rhythm along the site, became the guiding anchors of the entire composition. Around each tree, a mini-yard was created — intimate pockets of greenery that emphasize their stoic presence and bring a touch of domesticity into the public realm.

The transparency of the glass and the flexibility of the structure ensure that the space remains open and breathing at all times. The small courtyards invite people to linger — to sip coffee as if in a private backyard, while still being part of the vibrant life of the street. This dialogue between public and private, between reflection and openness, earned the project its second name: Glass House — The Cliché Glass House.

Throughout the year, the Glass House mirrors the rhythm of nature. The changing leaves tint the structure in seasonal hues, while sunlight and rain transform its transparency into a living canvas. It becomes a haven of calm — a poetic retreat where one can pause, reflect, and reconnect with the city’s slower pace.

A defining feature of the composition is the inclusion of four concrete wall screens along the transparent façade. On a side exposed to long hours of sunlight, these panels reduce glare and prevent the greenhouse effect, while introducing visual rhythm and depth. Their triangular compositions, echoing motifs found in traditional woven carpets, blend local symbolism with modern minimalism.

Inside, the tactile warmth of natural oak wood and the timeless texture of travertine stone create a grounded contrast to the surrounding glass — a minimalist yet harmonious dialogue between nature and materiality.

Ultimately, Cliché — The Glass House was designed to be invisible and visible at once — a space that integrates, not intrudes. It stands quietly among the architecture of Shkodra, never demanding attention, yet always inviting curiosity. Here, one can sit under the filtered light, surrounded by reflections of the city and whispers of the trees — a serene corner where transparency becomes an experience.
